  • Labrador ’s Larry Kubal was a panelist at OPEN Forum 2007 “Rational Exuberance” on June 16 along with representatives from Mayfield, Amidzad Partners, and Altair Ventures.
  • Yardbarker tops the frontpage of Digg on June 13.
  • EoPlex Technologies received the 2007 North American Specialized Manufacturing Technology Innovation of the Year Award by Frost & Sullivan.
  • Labrador 's Nina Labatt taught a session on reporting and compliance for the VCBC Venture Capital Finance 101 event at the Four Seasons Palo Alto on June 6 along with Fred Sroka and Tracy Lefteroff of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
  • ShotSpotter announced on June 5th the closing of a $12 million Series C round of funding.  Levensohn Venture Partners led the round, joined by existing investors Labrador Ventures, Claremont Creek Ventures, City Light Capital and Lauder Partners.
  • Everyone.net announced on June 5 that OpenTable, Inc. selected Everyone.net as a preferred email service partner for its more than 7,000 worldwide restaurants.

May 2007

  • Google acquires Labrador's GreenBorder.
  • Labrador ’s Larry Kubal keynote presentation “You Can’t Stop the Waves, But You Can Learn to Surf” at the 2007 Vegas Venture Forum on May 31, reviewed the current state of the venture market and identified areas of opportunity for early stage investors.  A copy of the PowerPoint presentation can be downloaded here.
  • Labrador 's Nina Labatt moderated a panel comprised of representatives from Paul Capital, SVB Capital and the Board of Directors of ILPA titled “What Venture Capital Financial Staff Can Do to Better Serve Limited Partners.”
  • PC World Magazine named Pandora one of "The 100 Best Products of 2007" in its May 21 issue. 
  • The Louisville Courier Journal featured Pandora in its May 19 Gizmo column.
  • Labrador's Sean Foote spoke on a panel titled: "Pallet of Venture Capital Investment Styles and Strategies" at the Emerging Managers Summit Conference in Chicago on May 17.

  • Solaicx closed a $27.1 million Series C up round financing on May 8th led by the D.E. Shaw Group. 
  • Pandora, Jangl, Altierre and Solaicx received the 2007 "Red Herring 100 North America" award. Red Herring's prestigious list of the top 100 private technology companies in North America for 2007 are selected from an applicant pool of over 800 leading companies, Red Herring recognizes the North America 100 for their part in driving the future of technology.
  • Everyone.net gains momentum in the cable marketplace showcasing a number of custom email and messaging solutions for cable providers at The CABLE Show 2007 in Las Vegas , May 7-9.

  • Jangl announced  on April 25 that it is bringing calling and texting capability to the more than 40 million member and visitors to Tagged.com, one of the world's largest and fastest-growing social networking sites.
  • Labrador 's Stuart Davidson was a guest lecturer with Andy Grove speaking on venture philanthropy at Rick Aubry’s Stanford GSB social entrepreneurship class.
  • Labrador ’s Larry Kubal was a panelist on “New Media/Web Internet Content” at the GCN California Tech 100 conference along with representatives from California CapitalPartners, DFJ Frontier, Momentum Venture Management and Stone Canyon Venture Partners.

  • Labrador invested $320,000 in Veeker as part of a Series A financing.
  • As part of our seed program, Labrador invested $200,000 in Yardbarker as part of a Series A financing.
  • EoPlex Technologies has been named a "Cool Vendor" by Gartner, Inc. EoPlex was listed in Gartner's report "Cool Vendors in Semiconductors, 2007," published March 23.
  • Everyone.net unveiled on March 20 new Rich Web Mail enhancements to the company’s line of hosted email solutions.  The new features are designed to deliver a more intuitive, desktop-style Web mail experience and are available free of charge with all Everyone.net services.
  • MeeVee's Neil Kjeldsen was featured in a March 25 Boston Globe article titled, "Start-ups and stalwart tackle unwieldy task of finding, organizing content."
  • Bill Yerkes of Solaicx  was quoted  in a  March 8 story in the Economist  titled, "Bright prospects. "

February 2007

  • As part of our seed program, Labrador invested $50,000 in Phonezoo as part of a Series A-1 Preferred financing.
  • As part of our seed program, Labrador invested $300,000 in Mi5 Networks.

  • Eoplex Technologies closed an $8 million Series C round on February 8.  ATA Ventures led the financing with investments from Labrador Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Draper-Richards.
  • Labrador's Sean Foote participated on a panel at Columbia and London Business Schools joint program, EMBA, Global Entrepreneurship event.
  • Labrador Ventures joined an $15M Series B financing of existing portfolio company Altierre led by new investor D.E. Shaw.
